10 Ways to Be Better: Being Kind, Attracts Kindness
Do Something Kind Acadiana:
The law of attraction is a real governing universal rule and an absolute, it's always in effect & taking route. 💯🔥🤑
* If you don't believe karma is real, you're likely under 18 and haven't experienced much.
Louisiana is made to be an incredible place, because if it's amazing people, culture, friendliness, and food.
Together, our state can flourish to new heights and rise above the statewide national bottom tier ratings, in industrial production, public education quality, employment & entrepreneurial opportunity, and sadly, last but certainly not least, murder rate.
Easy Things You Can Do:
1. Don't litter!
- If you throw it out, pick it up. Then, go ahead and pickup someone else's trash too, to make up for it.
- We encourage you and others to report witnesses of dumping trash in improper places, our environment can only take so much and we are already destroying it at an alarming rate.
2. Lend a Helping Hand
- Lafayette parish is filled with tons of extraordinary opportunities to volunteer, which are enriching to your life & soul. Such as Catholic Charities of Acadiana (Saint Joseph's Diner), Habitat for Humanity, Boys & Girls club, United Way of Acadiana, Down Syndrome Association of Acadiana, and many other great ones.
3. Give $1-$2 / Food to the Homeless
- One should never judge another human being, because you haven't walked a mile in their shoes.
- Looks can be deceiving, there is a chance you might just save that person's life.
4. Donate It, Don't Trash It
- As a business owner of a local furniture & mattress, I see this happening SO MUCH in our community today.
- People either are selfish or too lazy to even post on Facebook to give their old items away, even when it's a next to new $4,000 mattress or bedroom furniture set.
5. Tell a Random Person, I Love You
- Today, everyone is too into their own lives to care for a stranger.
- Depression is running a muck in our society & it could be solved by expressing our love for one another. It's contagious.
6. Reach Out to Your Friends/Family (Especially, in rough times)
7. Shop Local & Hire Local
- The economy is rough right now and shopping local is more important than ever, our small businesses are hurting and online big box stores are destroying the native retail industry.
8. Pay for a Strangers Meal, Coffee, or Donuts!
- Unexpected, random acts of kindness are infectious and change the world, one moment at a time.
9. Become a Foster (Children/Teens, Dogs, Cats, etc)
- Honestly, it doesn't matter what type of living being you decide to foster, I promise you it will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. Foster animals over at Acadiana Animal Aid, Precious Paw Prints, or ARFLA, additionally find more foster resources at https://www.lafayettela.gov/lascc/get-involved/foster.
10. Do 1 Random Act of Kindness per Day (And, don't let anyone know it was you!)
- To many want credit and recognition for being a good person & doing good things, but when you do that, it cheapens your integrity & devalues what you set out to do.
- Instead, complete just one random act of kindness everyday and after 30 days of doing this, review how you feel and how different your life has been!
